About Kate Stapleton, creator of ERA
ERA — Emotional Resilience Architecture — was created by coach Kate Stapleton as a structured way to build resilience: four pillars, sixteen lessons, worked through at your own pace.

Who Kate is
Kate Stapleton's story is one of rebuilding, resilience and discovering that life rarely follows the plan you had for it.
After years marked by addiction, mental health challenges and multiple sclerosis, Kate found herself having to rebuild her life and identity from the ground up. Recovery brought sobriety, but it also sparked a much bigger question: when the things you thought defined you fall away, who do you choose to become next?
Today, Kate is more than four years clean and sober, an entrepreneur, author, speaker and lifelong student of human resilience. Her own experiences of illness, recovery, disability and starting again have shaped a deep curiosity about how people adapt when life changes unexpectedly — and how adversity can sometimes uncover strengths and possibilities we didn't know were there.
Away from work, Kate is happiest lifting weights, learning something new, disappearing down an unexpected research rabbit hole, or spending time with her much-loved Jack Russell, Noopsie.
Why she created ERA
Resilience is usually talked about as a personality trait — either you have it or you don't. ERA treats it as something with structure: a relationship with yourself (Flame), the ability to keep moving in adversity (Agency), the ability to find possibility in constraint (Cognitive Creativity), and the maintenance that keeps it going (Adaptive Resilience).
Above all, Kate believes that resilience isn't about pretending everything is fine. It's about being able to look at life as it actually is and ask: "What now?" That question runs through every pillar of ERA.
The framework is educational rather than clinical. It gives you structured self-reflection, exercises to work through, and a private workbook that keeps what you write — so you can come back and see how your own thinking has changed.
Her coaching practice
Alongside the course, Kate runs a coaching practice at www.stapletoncoaching.com. Kate works with people who have been knocked sideways by life, helping them rediscover a sense of agency and rebuild on their own terms. You can also find Kate on LinkedIn.
Her book
Kate is the author of Resilience Rewired: Rebuilding After Life Falls Apart, her memoir of two decades of addiction, recovery and an MS diagnosis — and of the ERA Framework she built along the way. It's the story behind the course: proof that resilience can be built, piece by piece, by someone who has lived through it.
